Dun-dun-dunnnnnn.

~*Continued from yesterday's entry*~

Ben is sick.
Like, vomiting all night sick.

It turns out something at the sushi train restaurant had poisoned him, and he is suffering the consequences of being poisoned.

And so am I.

Neither of us got any sleep last night.

Ben threw up at midnight, shortly after we went to bed. I followed him to rub his back and to hold his hair out of his face like any good boyfriend would do.

He got it all out, so we went back to bed.

Just about to fall asleep... and felt/heard/sensed him make another dash to the bathroom, followed by his abnormally loud vomiting sounds.

It continued like this until 3:00am, at which point I got dressed and wandered around trying to find a 24-hour pharmacy, like they have in Tokyo.

I walked to the nearest pharmacy: closed.
Asked the guy int he 24-hour supermarket next door (which does not sell medicine... weirdos) where the closest place to get medicine to stop vomiting is, and he didn't know, so he sent me down the road to 7-11 to ask them.

Arrived at 7-11 some time later, asked the guy, he didn't know, but hovered around the medicine section, later concluding that all of the pills and potions he stocked were for head and muscle aches and were unsuitable for fixing vomiting.

So he sent me further onwards to the next convenience store (a Lawson's Station). I found Lawson's, but like the previous stores they proved useless, so I bought a few bottles of lemonade and some weird bottle of drink the clerk told may or may not help.

I returned to the apartment, where Ben was sitting in the bath, waiting for me. Turns out I'd been gone for over an hour in my search for medicine.

We fed him some of the weird medicine, but it tasted feral and he rejected it. So lemonade was the only thing left. He drank some, we went back to bed.

Up again not long after. And down, and up and down.

Then the sun rose.

Actually managed to get an hour or two of sleep... Then Ben woke up, woke me up, and I ran down to the pharmacy to get him some real medicine.

I was very proud of myself... Using my limited Japanese I managed to describe Ben's condition to the pharmacist, who was able to hand me some medicine! Ran home, gave Ben the medicine... And he stopped vomiting.

REJOICE!

So we rejoiced, then we sat around all day, me playing nurse/slave to Benjamin's whim, fetching him fresh glasses of lemonade when his current glass of lemonade became too warm and cleaning up the apartment, and just doing what any good person would do to care for their sick partner.

Ben reckons of all the things we ate at the sushi bar, it was the deep-fried chicken that made him sick. Go figure. Even so, he doesn't think he'll be able to stomach sushi for a very long time yet.

He didn't eat anything until dinner time, when I rode down to McDonald's to get him some fries (he wasn't ready to eat Japanese food :p ).

Even though we didn't get much sleep last night, we ended up going to bed around midnight still... stupid sleeping patterns.
